Abundant Life

As Thanksgiving nears, I am giving thought to the abundance of blessings in life. Each morning as I walk my little mixed terrier in peaceful neighborhoods, I marvel at the beauty of every season in Colorado. I am amazed at the infinite variety we can observe in nature, from endless miles of grassy high plains to majestic mountain peaks to deeply cut red canyons and gorges. The geology and rock forms of our state inspire awe. When hiking, I must discipline myself not to pick up and bring home every glittering rock that attracts me. My heart has skipped a beat when I have encountered  a few of the species of native wildlife including red foxes, coyote, wild turkey, owl, blue heron, and even a cougar (luckily, at a safe distance). The fruits of the land are no less diverse—wheat, corn, pumpkins, cabbage, tomatoes, apples, peaches, plums (including about a bushel from our back yard tree).

I feel especially close to my Creator and grateful for each person He has placed in my life. I am growing and learning new lessons from each relationship. As an artist I am inspired to communicate abundance in my paintings more than through words. I hope you will attend one or all of the receptions and shows of my new work listed above. May each of you set aside time during November to reflect upon your own abundant life.

Holiday Gift Idea: Mini Paintings

Just in time for your Christmas gift giving, I am creating new 5x7 inch mini paintings with similar themes as my larger size works. Friends and family have asked for a less expensive way to begin collecting original art. Here is a simple, easy and fun chance to find great values on unique gifts, while helping to support the creative careers of your local artists. These works will be available at the Studio Nights Party/Sale in the studio of Michael Ome Untiedt, landscape painter and instructor. You are invited to attend:

Friday, December 7th, Evening
